Aspen, Logs and Lupine The Fire Within

For anyone living within the Sheridan, Wyoming area or visiting before the show closes, it would be well worth your time to visit The Brinton Museum to see the fall show called, "About 6 x 6." The name refers to the size of all the paintings in the show which are close to six inches on each side. The show consists of the work of 129 artists who live all over the United States. Each artist has between one and five pieces on display and for sale. The prices range from the low $100's to $1200 but most pieces are quite affordable to every-day collectors and art lovers. This is a unique event in that you get to see such a variety of work by such a variety of great artists. I'll say I'm honored to be in the group. The honor comes as a result of being one of The Brinton Museum's stable of regular artists. Of course I'd like to think I belong in such august company simply by virtue of the four pieces I have on display, shown on this page. I believe I've earned the honor through sales at previous Brinton Museum shows as well. I'd like to thank the staff of the museum for staging such a labor-intensive event with about 500 artworks hung elegantly and beautifully lit. Among the artists' names which may be familiar to fans of the art of the west are: Matt Smith, Michael Godfrey, Karen Vance, Skip Whitcomb, Lorenzo Chavez and many others whose work is reguarly featured in national art shows, auctions and magazines. I hope you get a chance to pay a visit before the closing date of October 31, 2014. Small paintings are a sure way to please come Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries or for housewarming gifts as well as to fill the nooks and crannies of any art lover's walls. If you can't get to The Brinton yourself, paintings can be purchased by contacting the museum at (307) 672-3173 or I will happily arrange it for you. The prices for my pieces are around $300. |
