This pastel landscape painting of Gibbon Falls in Yellowstone National Park is from an unusual vantage point below the falls. tourists don't get to see it from this angle without a little adventure, frowned upon by the Park Service. Much of the area was touched by the Yellowstone fire of 1988 but is experiencing amazing regrowth. The fallen trees are decaying and providing nourishment to a new generation of lodgepole pine.
