Cowboy Carousel Donation

Last Color

Late this winter I was approached by an organization here in my home town of Buffalo, Wyoming, to see if I could donate a piece of artwork for their fundraiser auction. The group is called the Cowboy Carousel Center, based on a colorful piece of Buffalo's history. Some of the fantastic carved horses in the carousel were made by a local artist.

In addition to trying to keep the carousel itself operating and moving it to a more propitious location, the organization is offering classes in their newly revamped building for almost any subject you can imagine. Last fall I gave a two day workshop in pastel landscape painting at the center (to much applause I might add). I wrote up a page about it and want to share it with you since I have other workshops coming up: Workshop info.

It was a blessing that the plein air painting I donated, Last Color was well received and added nicely to the resources of the center. I look forward to having other workshops there in the future. From our house we will be able to hear the cheerful music of the carousel when it is deployed in its new home along Clear Creek.
